『オックスフォード版文学研究百科』巽先生の “U.S.-Japan Literary Interactions in the Transpacific Cultural History” が更新されました！

以前 CPAでお知らせした『オックスフォード版文学研究百科』(The Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Literature), 満を持して巽先生の “U.S.-Japan Literary Interactions in the Transpacific Cultural History” が更新されました！（→こちらからお読み頂けます）

1853年（ペリー来航）、1898年（トマス・サージェント・ペリーによる慶應義塾でのアメリカ文学授業開始）および 1955年（フォークナー初来日）を主な参照点としつつ、一世紀半以上にわたる日米の環太平洋的文化交錯の歴史が概観されます。

たとえば取り上げられるのは、日本で最初の英語教師として知られるラナルド・マクドナルドと作家メルヴィルの交錯、福澤諭吉のジェファソン翻訳およびエマソンとの共鳴や、ヨネ・ノグチと西脇順三郎におけるパウンドの介在。或いは、フォークナーが見据えたアメリカ南部と敗戦国としての日本のアナロジー（遠藤周作・大江健三郎・小松左京）や、「忍者」をめぐるピンチョンと山田風太郎の接点。最後には、国境横断的・惑星的視座における村上春樹の文化・文学的位置が再確認されます。他にも、参照される人物・作品は多数！なにとぞお見逃しなく！
