日米芸術家交換プログラムにて2010年3月から8月まで日本に滞在された作家エリザベス・マッケンジー氏による編集と、日系三世マジックリアリスト作家カレン・テイ・ヤマシタ氏の序文からなる、My Postwar Life: New Writings from Japan and Okinawaに、巽先生（"Tales from Fin de Siècle Japantown"）と小谷先生（"C-Lit and Yaoi Desire"）が寄稿されています。
カレン・テイ・ヤマシタ氏は、Through the Arc of the Rain Forest
(1990)（邦訳『熱帯雨林の彼方へ 』
（白水社、1994年）をはじめとして日本でも注目される作家であり、 2010年国際ペン東京大会のセミナー「越境・環境・女性」ではパネリストとして出演されています。また本書においては、2010年日本アメリカ文学会東京支部シンポジウムで講師をつとめられた、東京外国語大学教授の今福龍太先生（文化人類学者、批評家）のエッセイ"Nagasaki. And Scattered Islets of Time The Photography of Shomei Tomatsu"や、2010年度慶應義塾大学文学部総合講座「死と再生」で講演された明治大学理工学部教授の管啓次郎先生（比較詩学、批評理論）の詩 "Walking"も掲載されています。
今福先生は、カレン・テイ・ヤマシタ氏も寄稿されているウェブ・フォーラムCAFE CREOLEや、巡礼型野外学舎の奄美自由大学（2002年〜）も主宰されています。
日本のカルチュアに深く関心を寄せるマッケンジー氏編集のもと、他にも多くの国境を越えて活躍される詩人、小説家、政治家、写真家、劇作家、研究者がMy Postwar Lifeにそれぞれ文章を寄せています。
