"Cyberpunk America by Takayuki Tatsumi won the 1988 American Studies Book Prize sponsored by the Japan-United States Friendship Commission. The award was presented at a ceremony held May 24 at International House in Roppongi, Tokyo, with approximately 200 guests present. Cyberpink America is a documentary and critical study of the cyberpunk movement; the author, who received his Ph.D. at Cornell University, now teaches literature at Keio University in Japan."
