10月27日（木）から30日（日）にわたり、The Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present（現在芸術学会）の会議Arts of the Planet: National Conferenceが、ペンシルヴァニア州ピッツバーグ、ウィンダムホテルにて開催されます。
巽先生は、本学会ASAPの会長であり、Postmodernist Fiction (1987)やConstructing Postmodernism (1992)といった著作をもつポストモダン文学研究の大御所ブライアン・マクヘイル氏（オハイオ州立大学）により招聘され、今回の29日（土）に行われるシンポジウム“Planetary Postmodernisms”「惑星思考のポストモダニズム」にパネリストとして出演されることになりました。
