本誌の趣旨は、アメリカ研究が持つ多元的でグローバルな可能性を掘り起こし、斬新で革新的な学術研究を模索するというもの。トランスナショナルなアメリカ研究について、文化的会話が交わされる場を可能な限り広く提供するため、インターネットへアクセスできる方なら、どなたでも無料で参加可能。文学や音楽、歴史、政治など、幅広い分野にわたる盛りだくさんな内容になっています！
本号のスペシャルフォーラム “Sweden and America” では、“circulation” と “asymmentry” をキーコンセプトに、歴史・思想（経済 / 政治）・表象の 3つの切り口から、スウェーデンとアメリカの関係を理解するための新たな方法が探究されています。また、論文セクションには、9本の論考が掲載されるほか、復刻セクションには、過去の重要文献から今回は “interdisciplinarity” を実践する 3つの論考が収録されています。
最新研究書の序文を揃えたセクションは、慶應義塾大学で講演してくださったこともあるグレッグ・ロビンソン先生（ケベック大学モントリオール校）が本号も担当。特別に出版社から許可を得たアメリカ研究上重要な近刊からの主要部分が抜粋されており、本号は、境界を越えて文化同士を橋渡しし、その過程で既存の規範（人種や偏見）に異議を唱える芸術家（文学・写真・音楽）の “transnational creativity” に光を当てた研究書が取り上げられています。ここでは院ゼミ春学期に通読したシェリー・フィッシャー・フィシュキン先生（スタンフォード大学）の Writing America: Literary Landmarks from Walden Pond to Wounded Knee (Rutgers UP, 2015) も掲載されています。
